Nishil Shah, Toby Ellis and Louis Price all reached the knockout stage at the WTT Youth Contender Lignano in Italy.

Price got through in the under-19s with a 3-2 victory over Chile’s Gonzalo Caico, but was defeated in the last 64 by Preyesh Suresh Raj of India.

Ellis, who went out in the under-19 groups, made it through in the under-17s in second place in his group, winning one and losing the other 15-13 in a decider. He was defeated in the last 64 by Nishant Lebaka (USA).

Nishil Shah (pictured above) won two of his three matches in the under-11 groups, including a 14-12 in-the-decider victory in the decisive match against Andrea Bassi of Italy.

That put him into the quarter-finals, where he was defeated by Flavio De Souza of Brazil, the top seed.

Nishil Shah and his brother Janak went out in the group stages of the under-13s, while Janak also went out at that stage in the under-15s.
