Team World Cup Legacy Project

Table Tennis England's Legacy Project uses the ITTF Team World Cup as the catalyst for a major grassroots table tennis project in London.

The project gives young Londoners the chance to experience a major international tournament live, and makes it possible for thousands of Londoners of all ages and backgrounds to be active and enjoy the benefits of recreational sport. Even when everyday life gets really busy.

The Team World Cup Legacy Project will make a difference to London school pupils, East London community organisations and their members, London businesses and their staff, London Borough councils and their residents, Friends of Parks Groups and their park users, existing players across London well as the wider public who live, work or learn in East London.

The Legacy Project is supported by Sport England and the GLA. The project will have an impact across the whole of the capital, with particular focus on the Olympic Legacy Boroughs. These are Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Barking & Dagenham, WalthamForest and Newham.

The partnership with the GLA means we’re able to offer some exciting partnership opportunities in East London….

Table Tennis England have supported building club and school relationships by funding a series of coached sessions which then lead onto a Team World Cup themed event. TTE produced resources to support running the event and we hope that this approach encourages pupils to continue table tennis in their nearby club. There is also funding available for upskilling those involved such as a teachers course or a UKCC course. If you are interested in including or improving the table tennis offer at your school, please see the below info:

Schools Offer

Tennis England have specifically designed table packages for schools who cater for 5 – 16 year olds. You are able to filter the list on or website by county, enabling you to easily and quickly find coaches in your local area. The fee coach’s charge can vary with the starting price being £15 per hour, therefore we suggest you confirm a fee with the coach directly.
