We are delighted to announce a new Cadet & Junior 2 Star Open competition in the North West taking place at Sir Tom Finney Sports Centre on Saturday 28th June 2025 (CD 6/6/25), supported by the University of Central Lancashire in Preston, who provide excellent training, competitive opportunities and table tennis scolarships. The competition is aimed at Cadet U15 (born 2010 or later) & Junior U19 (born 2006 or later) players in the North of England and aims to provide appropriate competitive playing opportunities for all aspiring young players.

As well as providing a tournament within easy reach for town and county level players from Lancashire, Cheshire & Cumbria, we also want to encourage clubs in the North West to enter cadet & junior players (particularly girls) starting on their competitive playing journey. The banded large group format will ensure plenty of games with players competing against players of a similar standard.

Playing Schedule: Players will be ranked based on the latest computer ranking list, no restriction on gender (separate gender groups will run if enough entries). Groups of 6/7/8 with a round robin per group, groups will be mixed if there are not enough male/female players in each category. Play starts at 9.30am, hall open for practice from 8.45am. The organiser reserves the right to merge/cancel events, subject to entry.
