We are looking to grow our network of table tennis coaches to deliver our inclusive table tennis sessions across the Worthing and West Sussex areas.
We work with a growing number of local schools and colleges as well as managing an extensive outreach programme in the local area that aims to bring table tennis to the wider community. This includes care homes, disability groups and local charities.
Our mission is to offer inclusive table tennis to all who wish to take part and the right person for the role will embody our club values.
The role could include working in care homes as part of our outreach programme, schools as part of our network, running breakfast, lunch and after school clubs, as well as club sessions at Bohunt School in Worthing, focusing on strong communication to build good relationships with the players, parents and schools.
We strive to build and grow the opportunities our players have to participate in competitions so you will have opportunities to develop your skills across: umpiring, tournament organisation and refereeing. There may also be opportunities to deliver half-term and holiday camps during the school holidays.

The Person
To be considered for this role:
- Must hold a minimum of a Table Tennis England Level 1 Coaching Qualification (or equivalent). (Essential)
- Experience of successfully delivering Table Tennis sessions for children and young people in a school, community or sports club environment. (Essential)
- Be a confident IT user. (Essential)
- Be confident with handling Table Tennis equipment (setting up/put down tables, etc).
- Good organisational skills which are required to effectively plan and manage your programme of sessions.
- Good communication to proactively liaise with parents, colleagues and schools/venues
- Be enthusiastic, friendly, proactive, organised, punctual, responsible and confident.
- Have the ability to work under pressure
- You will have the opportunity to work with more senior coaches to develop your skills.
- Adaptable and have a flexible approach to work across the table tennis season, including the
- availability to work evenings and weekends where necessary.(Essential)
- Driving License and own transport (Desirable)
- Ensure adhere to the Table Tennis England Code of Conduct

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check and obtaining satisfactory references from past employers.
Coach Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver table tennis sessions across Worthing and West Sussex areas.
- Ensure sessions are appropriate to the players within
- To become familiar with Worthing TTC’s projects, mission and values.
- Support in administration duties (eg registration of new players, complete competition forms, etc).
- Record session payments.
- Communicate with schools, parents, players and other stakeholders.
- Recruit players to club sessions.
- Identify enthusiastic young players and report to Head Coach.
- Store and handle equipment.

develop their coaching skills and experience, support with travel and its expenses and work together
on possible further opportunities and hours if desired.
