The hunt is on for British players to star alongside Hollywood hot property Timothee Chalamet in a film about the life of table tennis legend Marty Reisman.
But hurry – applications have to be in by this Sunday, 25 August at the latest, and preferably sooner!
Casting company JV8 Inc is looking for male players aged from their 20s to their 50s to feature in the film Marty Supreme, which is due to shoot in the Autumn. Experience with hardbat would be a plus but is not essential.
There is also a specific role, ‘Ted’, which will be for a white British man in their 40s-50s, who must be a highly competitive player.
No prior acting experience is necessary but applicants must be comfortable on camera and willing to travel. If cast, the opportunity is paid, with travel and accommodation covered.
Applications are by filling in a form and supplying photos and video interview – full details are on the form.
Marty Supreme is based on the life of Marty Reisman, the legendary American player who was a table tennis ‘hustler’ playing for bets in New York in the 1940s.
He went on to win five bronze medals at the World Table Tennis Championships in the late 1940s and early 1950s and became one of the most recognisable names in the sport right up until his death in 2012 at the age of 82.
Timothee Chalamet, 28, is one of the hottest properties in Hollywood, having starred in the blockbuster Dune series and the Wonka musical.
He was nominated for the Best Actor Oscar for his breakthrough role in the 2017 coming-of-age film Call Me By Your Name – the youngest nominee in the category since 1939.
