There was a terrific tournament with top-class table tennis on the Isle of Wight on Saturday as 48 players entered the annual all day charity tournament in aid of the Mountbatten local hospice.

The hospice provides a range of care and support for people with life-limiting conditions, ensuring that they get the care they need, when they need it, within their local community.

This was the largest open tournament at Smallbrook for a long time, including 30 of the top players in the south coming ‘across the water’ to support this charitable event.

In the final, Matt Ware (pictured above right) beat last year’s winner, George Downing (left), 3-1.
