Table Tennis England CEO Sally Lockyer says the organisation will be “brave and bold” in driving growth in the sport under her leadership.

Sally started in the role on Monday and describes herself as “excited, excited, excited” to grasp the opportunities and tackle the challenges ahead.

In her interview, she speaks about the skills and experiences she has acquired from working in the sport sector over many years.

She covers subjects including performance funding, the profile of the sport, the Table Tennis United strategy, governance, diversifying revenue, digital transformation and her own experiences playing table tennis.

She also talks about her plans to get out and about to meet people in the sport and listen to the voices of the members, which she describes as a “fundamental part” of her role.

She says: “For me, exemplary governance underpins everything we do and if we get that right, we are set up for success.

“Secondly, we are going to be laser-focused on our strategy. Table Tennis United is a powerful strategy, so we need everybody to be behind that.

“Key to delivering some of those areas is digital transformation – that will be a big part of what we want to do – and get those in place and that will help us drive growth.

“The approach is going to be brave and bold.”
