GB Pathway and Senior Squad Coach John Murphy has an eye on present and future opportunities at WTT Feeder Manchester, which starts on Thursday.
England has a squad of 17 athletes in action, with further GB representation from the likes of Anna Hursey, who is now the world No 4 Junior after winning her last three WTT tournaments.
In our video interview out now on YouTube, John talks about the performance aims in both singles and doubles, with Liam Pitchford and Hursey likely to be seeded highly both individually and as a pair, and plenty of other top names competing, including Paul Drinkhall, Tom Jarvis, Sam Walker and Tin-Tin Ho.
Youngsters including Abraham Sellado have a chance to step up to a Senior event, while eye-catching doubles pairs include Drinkhall & Walker and Pitchford & Connor Green.
John said: “It’s exciting for us to play on home turf. We want to play our best, all the athletes are in preparation to do that, to bring the best possible results to a home event.
“We can blood young athletes who never had the opportunity to play at Senior level but we also have a full house of our best and most prominent athletes so, yeah, it’s really exciting.”
