Abraham Sellado has been handed a baptism of fire in his first appearance at a WTT Feeder event.

The Under-15 and Under-17 national champion (pictured above) will face the second highest-ranked player in qualifying as he takes on Germany’s Benno Oehme (WR 273) in the first qualifying round of the Men’s Singles at WTT Feeder Manchester tomorrow. The match is at 2pm on Table 1.

Sienna Jetha will start her Women’s Singles campaign in the first qualifying round against Miriam Carnovale (WR 444) of Italy, and she is the first English athlete on court, playing at 10.30am on Table 1.

It is also Italian opposition for Mari Baldwin, who faces Nicole Arlia (WR 358), who follows Jetha on to Table 1 at 11.05am.

Ella Pashley and Yat Poon will meet each other at 12.50pm on Table 3, with the winner to play Jana Riera of Spain (WR 297) in the second qualifying round.

Anna Green will face Spain’s Angela Rodriguez (WR 446) in her first match at this level, at 12.50pm on Table 1.

All the English players are currently unranked, with the exception of Poon, who is at No 471 on the world list.

In the Women’s Doubles, Pashley & Jetha face Ainhoa Cristobal & Eugenia Sastre of Spain for a place in the main draw, which starts on Friday. That match is on Table 1 at 5pm.
