No fewer than four WTT medallists will be competing for titles at the Mark Bates Ltd U10-U13 National Championships this weekend.
Dimitar Dimitrov, a three-time winner at Under-11 competitions on the WTT circuit, is top seed both at that age group and in the Under-12 Boys’ Singles.
Recent WTT silver medallists Sinan Surensoy and Pablo Ramirez-Rioja are also highly ranked – the latter is top seed in the Under-13s, while Surensoy is second seed in the U12s and third seed in the U13s.
Hannah Saunders, who won a bronze at the WTT Youth Contender in Hungary in November, is top seed in both the Under-12 and Under-13 Girls’ Singles.
With several other players having had experience on the WTT circuit, it promises to be a highly competitive event.
The Championships, at WV Active Wolverhampton, are an open event this year and the Under-10 and Under-12 age groups have been added.
Any young players within those age groups who meet the criteria were able to enter and did not have to be invited – and there are no restrictions based on rankings.
There will be boys’ and girls’ singles in all four age groups and boys’ and girls’ doubles at U12 and U13.
